I have been staying at this property for the last 14 years. Since the sale and renovations to this property last year (which were severly required) the property has risen to a 4 star rating. The staff at the Grand Paradise, Puerto Plata is excellent. Allan, the Beach bar mgr., is excellent. A very personable gentleman and quite entertaining. The buffet staff is excellent and the food quite diverse. Michelangelos restaurant is excellent, with fast service and a good varied menu. The grill restaurant again has excellent service and a good menu. Meals in the buffet are varied with theme nights as well as a excellent grill section. Accommodations,which have all been remodeled last year are excellent. The superior garden view and ocean view rooms are excellent. The Junior Suites are located on the 3rd floor with no balconies. This area of the Playa Dorada Beach is excellent with one of the best swimming areas of the whole beach. Very good activitity directors at the resort, join in if you want or just watch. Overall, an excellent choice for a mid to high rated property. |
